Lotus

Red, blue, and crimson

Create peaceful harmony

Reflecting deep thoughts

Patient petals are sparkling

Fervent pure love exposes

Abalone Cove

Abalone Cove, who created Thee?

Heaven and Earth interfere with each other

Giving birth to a masterpiece of infinite love

Landing in Rancho Palos Verdes

Ocean reaches to the Horizon

Aqua water mingles with sapphire sky

Establishes harmonious cobalt

Catalina looming into view

White waves restlessly engulf little islands

Incommensurable gravel covers the beach

The tide is going down

Unveils destroyed Babylon

Collapsed under the sea

Displaying the bottom of the Grand Palace

The staircase leads up to the King’s Hall

Where the King held the Court

Burgundy rocks creep up the cliff

Stretching out over the throne

Visitors step on the slippery empire structure

Rectangular stacked slabs

Jet black like afar

Sandy like bronze

Hazel like emery

They are searching sea creatures

Discovering aquatic habitat

They inhale fresh air of the ocean

Admiring fascinating nature

Enjoying the tranquility of the Cove

Welcoming the whisper of waves and winds

Swimming in sun, sea, and sand

Forty years

Over forty years
Flip-flop up-down spheres
Produce tones of tears
Heart becomes severe

Follow a career
Fire up like a deer
Make life be clear
Achievement may cheer

California State University Los Angeles ‬ Sonnet

In two thousand thirteen
First stepped on the campus
The view has been seen
Fascinating Confucius
Inspiring His Genius
Eastern culture reveals
Igniting learning trust
Knowledge brings zeal
Proud Bald Eagle stands still
Praising the mighty United States
Cal State provides all fields
Promising radiant fate
For those who are working hard
For those who play triumphed cards

Valentine

Valentine
Overnight
It is nice
With two minds
All are kind
To say “hi”

Cherry Chase Sonnet

Cherry Chase Sonnet

Back to Cherry Chase
As the foreseen fate
Filling empty space
Commitment is made

The children are chased
Up to learning grades
The winners will taste
Successful sweet cakes

Memory is traced
Building knowledge base
Ecstasy is craved
In cheered Cherry Chase

For Cherry Chase Kids
With love, Anhthao Bui

A Love Reflection

I Love Anhthao:
She is my piece of pie;
Cuter than a butterfly.
When I am with her
I can kiss the sky.
She makes me feel
Like I can fly
Up to the sky.
What kind of man am I
That I deserve the love
Of a woman with such
Beautiful brown eyes?

DENIAL

Carries a glorious mission
Denies pure love
Follows God’s voice
He pledges to be a goatherd

Over the oceans
On the mountain
A fragile heart sobbing
Blasphemes God’s steal her love

SHAME

Shame on Viet Communists
They sell Viet land to feed their greed
If folks cry out their split
Our folks are committed to death
Folks pretend to be deaf
Wise citizens accept silence
I reject my quiescence
I chastise their treason of roots
Because rage fills my soul
To see our folks in woe’s burden
Trường Sa’s big present
Red Bloc sells to Nation China

OCTOBER THIRTEENTH

October thirteenth, ninety sixty something
That gloomy night
Mother Nature enraged
She poured her anger to the earth

A first faint cry
Lost into the explosion of thunderstorms
Flood overflowed the seashore

The newborn was abandoned
